During the Summer of 2008 young people from the Base Barnados in Whitley Bay once again took part in an Urban Art Project. These are the images they created using a variety of software and hardware. All the images are produced using a computer and no buildings, animals or other property were damaged during the course of this project.

In the summer of 2007 the ICT group from North Tyneside Carers held a digital photography competition based around the theme of 'Urban Art'. The photographs were taken on a series of outings to local neighbourhoods! These are the results, we hope you enjoy them. Well done to all the participants and special contragulations to John, Mary and Margaret for gaining the first three prizes. The images are now displayed on the walls at the Carers Centre, in Wallsend.

Have a look at some of the beautiful flower arrangements created by learners on Graham Armstrong's class at Churchhill Pavillion in Monkseaton.

These were taken on 14th April 2007 at the end of a fun filled, inspirational and lively class! Spring was in the air that day and you can see its influence in the designs.

These images are the product of an Urban Art project with some of the young people who attend The Base, Barnados at Whitley Bay, and their art tutor, Karen.

During the project they learned various photographic techniques and used Adobe Photoshop Elements to put together some collages based on the theme 'Urban Art'

We would like to point out that no buildings, animals, humans or property were harmed, defaced or insulted during the course of this project - it is all achieved with photographic trickery. The young people were merely encouraged to use their imagination and come up with some images that they might find interesting or amusing while walking around their local area. Well done to them all - and a big thanks to Karen for her support

Raymond is an Edinburgh artist who works as a guard at the National Gallery. His works of art have won him acclaim and his own exhibtions. Here is some of his work, incouding a selection of canvasses celebrating the jazz scene of Edinburgh which were shown as part of the City's St Bride's Centre Jazz Trane programme.

These lovely photographs of our very own coast line were taken by guest artist, Carole Anne Southern who was visiting from Stanley.

Some of the images are beach and surrounding shots but notice how Carole Anne has looked at the local environment, taking inspiration from the rock formations and the pleasure people get out of just mooching among them.....
