In the North East of England
Saturday Art Club - at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art in Sunderland. Open every Saturday morning during term time for 8-14 year olds between 10:00am and 12:00pm, and 1:00 and 3:00pm. This is a hands on fun group working with artists each week to experiment with different materials to create unique artworks. Call 0191 5148452 for more information
North Tyneside Arts - First port of call for Art Projects in North Tyneside has to be North Tyneside Arts, housed in the Buddle Arts Centre in Wallsend Tyne & Wear. Harker Herald - look out in Newcastle for large billboard sized artworks artwork produced by a different artist each month. For more information check out Waygood Gallery & Studios and see what other exhibitions they are running.
Waiting for Sunday - the big night out in Teeside! This exciting arts hub hosts the best of talen from far and wide every Sunday night. Complemented by the best vegetarian food in the region (apparently). For more info visit The Waiting Room.
The National Glass Centre, based in Sunderland has a whole range of events and activties. Find out about exhibitions or events. Highlights include North and South which examines what it means to be English; or a tour of the centre where glass is still blown in the traditional way. North and South is also featured at the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art
Rednile Still in Sunderland, Rednile is a colaboration between 3 artists resulting in a project that 'engages with conemporay art in its broadest sense'. Find out what its all about and what projects are current here
