The British Library
While not exactly Creative Writing this new site from the British Library Sounds Familiar celebrates the UKs different accents. Click on the map of Brtain to hear the spoken language of each area. Fascinating stuff.
Again from the British Library Why Write? explores why we write; how writing works; ways of writing and looks at the 26 letters of what we know as the alpahbet. The site incorporates activities and loads of fascinating facts and information.
Turning the Pages from the British Library is not to be missed. Archives of their great books which you can literally leaf through.
BBC RAW
Once again the BBC comes up trumphs with its series of games and quizzes to assist with Reading and Writing skills.
Spacejock
The Spacejock site has information for aspiring authors on the act of writing, getting an agent and more. It has been put together by Simon Haynes, the Australian of the Hal Spacejock novels. His site also contains free software which he originally wrote for his own use, but which is now made available for anyone to download. Programs include BookDB (Book catalogue software), yWriter (free novel writing program) and Sonar (Short story or article submissions tracking software). His Spacejock Software contains no ads or spyware.
