Allentown Art Museum
A fabulous site from the Allentown Art Museum for all ages that allows young people to travel 500 years in the past to explore this interactive educational website.  The introduction itself is enough to get you hooked!

African Life through Art
Some wonderful images and information from African Life through Art, designed by the Indianapolis Museum of Modern Art.  It uses audio, video, virtual reality and graphics.

SFMOMA The Legacy of Phyllis Wattis
SFMOMA The Legacy of Phyllis Wattis: This interactive exhibit features and helps you explore modern works of art donated by cultural philanthropist, Phyllis Wattis.  For this site, you'll need the free Flash plug-in

Illuminating the Renaissance
Illuminating the Renaissance: A wonderful site which gives you an interactive view of an epoch in Flemish illumination when some of the most stunning works of art of the Renaissance could be found within the pages of books.  Beautiful stuff.

Explore Places
How can a place inspire an artist ?  This and other such questions can be answered here at Explore Places  For quite advanced art learners (GCSE), a nice site with some useful teachers resources.  Small type, so not the easiest to read.

Dia Centre
For art projects from living artists, created specifically for the internet, Dia Centre is where work is supported that might not ‘fit’ into other institutions.   This thought providing multi media work is interesting and very well created.  Have a look at the old Christmas card collection in Allen Ruppersberg’s “The New Five Foot Shelf”.

Buckhouse
An animated tap dance lesson that can be downloaded to your PDA or other handheld device.  Inspiring stuff from Buckhouse.

Arts and Culture
Arts and Culture - the interconnected guide to all the arts. Look no further…….. Information on everything from hip hop music to advertising. A truly comprehensive encyclopaedia of the arts which you could surf for hours.

The Arts and Humanities Data Service
The Arts and Humanities Data Service has " historical databases, literary texts, linguistic corpora, performing arts multi-media collections, and various other collections deposited with the AHDS". Well worth a visit for research purposes.

BBC GCSE Bitesize - Art
What better site is there than the BBC? Their Art and Design section is meant for schools, but is a good generic learning site and has some nice gallery images. You will also find this site in the Learn How To section of this site.

Art and Design
A series of weblinks with descriptions (a bit like this site) as been collectd by the North West Regional Support Centre (RSC). Some of the sites are repeated on this website, but if you think of art as art being like chocolate, you can never have too much....... The material has been selected with adult eduction teachers and tutors in mind.
